What happens in the first psychotherapy session?
During the first session, we will deep-dive into your completed initial assessment which will help us identify your history, presenting concerns, and your therapy goals. You are not expected to share everything about yourself in the first session. We understand that beginning therapy can be scary and overwhelming, and it may take you some time to feel safe and to trust us with certain feelings and thoughts. It's important that you feel safe, respected and understood by your therapist. We suggest you booking a complimentary discovery call to decide if we are a good fit for you on this journey! Recognizing the importance of access to affordable therapy, we reserve select sessions at a reduced cost to support those who are experiencing financial difficulty. Individual Therapy $185/60 min. session Family Therapy $225/60 min. session Consultation Please contact Are the fees covered by OHIP?
Although registered social workers are qualified to provide psychotherapy services, unfortunately these fees not covered by OHIP at the present. However, the majority of extended health benefits provide coverage for psychotherapy services. Please speak with your insurance provider to determine if psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW) is approved for coverage. Receipts with our college registration numbers are provided so that you can bill with your insurer directly. Do you offer video/phone therapy?

Confidentiality is paramount in our therapeutic alliance and is typically reviewed in the first session. Your clinical record will never be disclosed to any third party without your written consent. However, there are three situations that do not require signed consent including:
